Department of Chemistry The Chinese University of Hong Kong(Professor)
Dominic TW Chan received his bachelor and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry from Warwick University, U.K. in 1989 and 1992, respectively. After completing his Ph.D. studies, he joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as a visiting lecturer. He moved to the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1994 and is now a Professor in the Chemistry Department in CUHK. He was one of the founding members of the Hong Kong Society of Mass Spectrometry (HKSMS) and had served as the president of the society during 2007-2009 and in 2011. He had served as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 4th Uppsala Conference on Electron Capture / Transfer Dissociation in 2008. His research interests focused on the development of Mass Spectrometry Instrumentation and Applications. Current research works in his laboratory focus on three aspects: (1) development of ambient ionization methods, including membrane funnel-based spray ionization (MFSI) and liquid microjunction surface-sampling probe (LMJ-SSP), for mass spectrometry analysis of complex biological systems and for mass spectrometry imaging; (2) development of differential ion mobility separation for gas-phase separation of ions; (3) studies of various tandem mass spectrometry methods, including electron capture dissociation, electron induced dissociation and collision induced dissociation for structural characterization of glycoconjugates.会议咨询、注册费缴纳以及会议稿件
