Dr. Yet-Ran Chen., serves as a Tenured Associate Research Fellow at the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center of Academia Sinica. He obtained his doctorate in Analytical Chemistry from National Taiwan University and holds adjunct associate professor positions at National Taiwan Ocean University, National Taiwan University, and National Chiayi University. Dr. Chen's expertise lies in fundamental mass spectrometry, proteomics, metabolomics, and plant immunity. His research focuses on leveraging mass spectrometry-based OMICS and molecular biology methodologies to elucidate the critical roles of peptides in regulating plant immunity. Notably, his work has led to the discovery of the pathogenesis-related protein 1 (PR1) as the precursor of an immune cytokine known as CAPE. His significant contributions have been recognized through research awards from the Taiwan Mass Spectrometry and Plant Biologist Societies, highlighting his pivotal role in advancing biological mass spectrometry and understanding plant immunity mechanisms. Additionally, his research innovation has garnered him a prestigious award from Academia Sinica for junior scientists.
