i.e., the multiple sponsors will agree on a single sponsor.” The societies that nominated the same candidate should discuss among themselves to determine who will be the single sponsor of the candidate.
Dear IMSF affiliate representatives:
10 out of 21candidates were elected to enter the 2nd round of voting. Each candidate received 3 votes in the Hare counting system (the number of votes required for election is 3). Originally, we planned to elect only 9 candidates. However, two entrants had the same number of votes, so both are eligible for the next round. The new candidate list is in the attachment.
According to the 2nd voting rules posted in November 2011, the sponsor of each candidate should provide supplementary materials (no more than 5 pages) on details of the candidate’s CV and mass spectrometry-related achievements. In addition, they may include up to two letters that are for information only, not endorsement. The 2nd round voting by the members of the IMSF Governing Committee will be held to select the top 3 candidates as the winners of the 2012 Thomson Medal Award. We plan to start the voting process in the middle of March and have set the deadline for determining the three award winners as April 30, 2012. Thank you for your attention and compliance.
